Privacy Policy - SyncFlix - Watch Party
SyncFlix helps people watch local videos in synchronized rooms, connect with friends, create groups, and optionally use voice chat. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
- Account data: email, name, username, optional profile photo.
- Social data: friend requests, friends list, groups, and notifications.
- Room sync data: room IDs, participant status, playback events (play/pause/seek/position).
- Voice data: microphone audio stream during active voice rooms and signaling metadata.
- Diagnostics: crash logs, analytics events, device/app metadata.
- Support reports: issue title/description and reporter metadata when submitted in app.
How We Use Data
- To provide account, room, sync, social, and voice features.
- To keep the app reliable and secure.
- To troubleshoot bugs and respond to support issues.
Media Access
You can select local video files and images from your device. Local videos used for playback sync are not uploaded as part of the sync feature.
Third-Party Services
SyncFlix uses Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, Realtime Database, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics), Google Sign-In, and a signaling server at signaling-server-9rpb.onrender.com.
Retention and Deletion
Data is retained as needed for app operation. Notifications are configured with expiry. You can delete your account from Profile -> Security -> Delete Account.
